The Holy Scriptures are to be read, studied, meditated on, and finally acted upon. The Holy Scriptures are our lifeline, our weapon, source of strength, our help, guidance, it is all. The Holy Scriptures are alive and contains the Holy Spirit.
It is interesting that the Gospel of John introduces the Word: 1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was with God in the beginning. 3 Through him all things were made; without him, nothing was made that has been made. 4 In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. 5 The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcomea] it. (John 1:1-5)
So of course, the Scriptures have life and is life-changing and that is because He (the Word) was with God in the beginning. This is so important to catch that vision, catch that Jesus is the Word and He was with God in the beginning.
12 For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. 13 Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account. (HEB 4:12)
