Evangelist Helen D. Newton affectionately known as Dr. Helen was born and raised in the Bronx, New York. She graduated from Briarcliff College with a B.A. in Biology, City College with a B.S. in Biomedical Sciences, and, an MD from the University of Medicine & Dentistry of NJ (as of July 2013 UMDNJ merged with Rutgers and is now Rutgers School of Biomedicine and Health Sciences). She also has a B.A. in Theological Education from Evangelical Bible College and Seminary located in Lake Worth, FL.

“After attending Catholic School, I decided not to go back to church because I knew something was missing. I started searching for the Spirit of God. I read, researched, and attended different churches. I decided to read the Bible from cover to cover. One day a woman entered the train and stood over me and noticed that I was reading the Bible. I tried not to speak to her, but having given in I was shocked to find out that her Dad was my son’s pediatrician! She was from the Church of Christ and invited me to Bible study;  before long, for the first time in my life, I gave my life to Christ. I was baptized by immersion, received the Holy Ghost, and was on fire for the Lord, passing out tracks, doing bible studies in my home, and sharing the gospel with people on the street. I became a full-fledged Disciple of Christ. He became the Lord of my life, He was and still is my Savior. Since then my life has never been the same!! Thank you, Jesus!!”

Dr. Helen has spent, by choice, most of her life serving the poor and indigent population of New York City, NY, Newark, NJ, Hartford, CT, and West Palm Beach, FL. In addition, the Lord has led her to serve in medical missions to several islands in the Caribbean, South America, and Mexico.

In May 2016 Dr. Helen was” sent out” by Evangelist Reinhard Bonnke, who said: “God calls us to a service that is far beyond anything we could imagine for ourselves.” The sendoff by Evangelist Reinhard Bonnke had an immediate effect as evident in the work being done in Haiti today.

“Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you, before you were born, I set you apart; …”(Jer1:5) God says that every member of his family is to minister. In the Bible, the words “servant” and “minister” are synonymous with service and ministry. If you are a Christian you are a minister, and when you are serving, you are ministering.
We are on earth to fulfill the Lord’s purpose. Once you are saved, God intends to use you for His goals. God has a ministry for us in His Church and a mission for you in the world!
