Pakistan: Summer July 24th News from the Brick Kiln

Pastor Pervaiz wrote that “his heart was broken” when he visited the brick kiln and he learned that a young boy of 14 years named Emmanuel was tortured and died at the hands of the overseers at the brick kiln.  14 years old – dead!  Emmanuel’s father was moved to a hospital because he too was tortured.  Lord have mercy!! Our hearts go out to the families working at the brick kiln and we pray that you join forces with us as we raise funds to free the Areef family. More information to come.

Pakistan: Summer of 2022 July

Pastor Pervaiz and his ministry met the torrential monsoon rains Pakistan experienced with compassion, faith, food, and whatever support they could muster.  The monsoon rains are devastating and left many suffering from many diseases including malaria, dengue fever, diarrhea, and many other medical afflictions as a result of the flooding.  Malnutrition finds the weakest in society, the children, and then the parents have to watch their children slowly wither away.  The country is unprepared and paralyzed by the unrelenting floods.  But Pastor Pervaiz, his faithful son, Joseph, and their ministry went out to meet those affected and bring food.  They are examples of putting the gospel to work!  We pray, we believe,  and then we become doers of the Word!

Please help by contributing to our Pakistan ministry – every dollar goes directly to help those in need.

His kidney was removed to pay a debt…

We never really understand just how blessed we are, living where we live, and how we live… blessed of God. Waking up every day free to live our lives according to what we want to do.  We have a choice.  Unlike some of the Christian families in Pakistan who cannot find a job, or the only job offered to them because they are Christians, is to work in the brick kiln.  The brick kiln is slavery circa 2022.  We have been introduced to this heinous act of enslavement in Pakistan 2 years ago when we decided to pay off the debt for two families, so far, with a third in urgent need of freedom.  Understand that if the grandparents are in debt, they take the grandparents, the children, and their children.  Everyone works from sun up to sundown, making bricks.  The children do not go to school, they work. There were three generations who have been working here, the first generation has passed leaving the son, his wife, 3 children, and his two sisters, one of whom got married in the brick kiln which raised the debt that the son (as head of the family) has incurred. What is heinous, besides enslavement, is that they removed one of his kidneys as payment for the debt.  THEY REMOVED ONE OF HIS KIDNEYS AS PAYMENT, but it didn’t pay it in full.  See, that is the gimmick… no matter how many payments, they never pay it off.  They always owe, are always in debt, always have to make bricks.

The family had heard about Pastor Pervaiz and walked a three hours car drive, to see him, and ask for his help.  Below, Pastor feeds the man and his family.

The Pakistan Fundraiser worked! Thank you!! The MANU Family is FREE!!!

Can you imagine making bricks every day, day in, day out your whole life?  Can you imagine watching your children be born into slavery and watch them make bricks all day every day, no school for the rest of their lives? Can you imagine your daughter never knowing freedom, dying a young, unmarried slave in the brick kiln?

MANU Family is RELEASED from the brick kiln!!! Go along for the ride… no more bricks!! We praise the Lord!! Soul Winning Mission Association thanks all who contributed so selflessly to make this happen.
